Custom business software you own
I build the software your business needs, then hand it over so you own it.
Portals, dashboards, trackers and automations for teams that have outgrown spreadsheets. I build it, train your team, and give you the keys. You don't need a retainer to keep it running.
What I build
Practical tools that replace the spreadsheet, the email chain and the sticky notes. I work with businesses in any industry. If your team repeats it every week, it can probably be made easier.
-
Client portals
A place where your clients log in to check project status, upload documents and see invoices.
-
Internal dashboards
One screen that shows this week's orders, open jobs and overdue tasks, without anyone building a report by hand.
-
Trackers
Track equipment, inventory, inspections or hiring in one shared place with a clear status for each item.
-
Intake forms
A new-client or service-request form that sends every answer to the right person and stores it in one place.
-
Simple CRMs
A customer list built around how you actually sell, with contacts, follow-up dates and notes from each call.
-
Workflow automation
When a form is submitted, the right people are notified, a record is created and the next task is assigned automatically.
How it works
A clear, four-step process. You know the price and the plan before any building starts.
-
Discovery call
We talk through how your team works today, what slows you down and what a good tool would do. Then I send you a written scope and a fixed price.
-
Build
I set up a Zite account in your business's name, using your information, and build the app there. You review it as it comes together, so there are no surprises at the end.
-
Training and handoff
I train the people who will use and maintain the app, and give you written documentation. Then I hand it over, and you control the account.
-
Optional support
If you want help after handoff, you can add a support plan. If you'd rather run it yourself, you don't need one.
Why I hand it over
Many agencies keep you dependent on them. I'd rather build something your team can run on its own.
-
You own your software
You own the account and the data. I set the app up in your workspace, not mine.
-
No required retainer
You pay for the project. After handoff there's nothing more to pay me unless you choose a support plan.
-
Documentation and training included
Every project comes with training for your team and written notes on how the app works and how to change it.
-
A clear warranty period
Your proposal states a warranty period. If something I built doesn't work as agreed during that time, I fix it at no charge.
Built on Zite
I build on Zite, a no-code AI app builder. Apps are described in plain language and then edited visually, so people without technical training can make changes after I hand the app over.
I'm an independent builder. I'm not affiliated with Zite, and Zite doesn't endorse me.
Why I use it
- Visual editing. Your team can update fields, pages and wording without code.
- Unlimited users and apps on every Zite plan.
- No per-seat costs. Your cost doesn't go up as more people use the app.
What you pay Zite
You hold the Zite account and pay Zite directly for your plan. My fee covers the build, the training and the handoff. For current plans and prices, see Zite's official pricing page (opens in a new tab).
Pricing
Every project gets a fixed price based on its scope.
Fixed-price projects
After the discovery call, I send you a written scope and one fixed price. That price doesn't change unless you ask to change the scope.
Optional support
If you'd like help after handoff with changes, new features or questions, I offer support plans. You don't need one to keep the app running.
Your Zite plan
You pay Zite directly. See Zite's pricing (opens in a new tab) for details.
Questions
Who owns the app?
You do. I set up the Zite account in your business's name, using your information, and build the app in your workspace. You own the account and your data, and you pay Zite directly. I join as a builder while I work, and after handoff you can remove my access.
What happens after handoff?
Your team runs the app. You'll have training and written documentation on how it works and how to make common changes. During the warranty period, I fix anything I built that doesn't work as agreed. After that, you're on your own unless you choose a support plan.
What is Zite, and why do you use it?
Zite is a no-code AI app builder. Apps are described in plain language and then edited visually, so someone without technical training can maintain them. Every Zite plan includes unlimited users and apps, so your cost doesn't grow as your team grows. That fits my goal of building something you can run on your own.
What if Zite changes its pricing or shuts down?
I can't control Zite's pricing or business decisions. Because you hold the account and pay Zite directly, any pricing change shows up on your own bill and you decide what to do. If Zite ever stopped working for you, you'd have to rebuild the app on another platform. Your documentation explains how the app works, which makes a rebuild faster. Look at this risk before you start, and I'm happy to talk it through on our call.
Can the app be moved off Zite?
Not as exported code. Zite hosts the app, and Zite apps can't be exported as code. Moving to a different platform would mean rebuilding the app there. I'd rather you know that now than find out later.
How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope. A single intake form is a much smaller job than a client portal with several user roles. You'll get a timeline with your fixed quote, before any work starts.
What if I need changes later?
Many changes, like adding a field, renaming a page or adjusting a form, your team can make with Zite's visual editor, and your training covers this. For bigger changes, you can buy a support plan or hire me for a new fixed-price project.
What about data security?
Your data lives in your Zite account, which you control. I use the access you give me only to build your app, and you can remove that access after handoff. If you have specific security or compliance requirements, bring them up on our discovery call, and check Zite's own security documentation to confirm the platform meets them.
